Biography

Andy Reimer has been an accomplished senior executive with a comprehensive background in all facets of the Film and Television industries. Over a 30+ year career, he has worked as a Production, Acquisition and Distribution executive for a variety of different companies. He has held senior positions for large international media companies (HBO, Blockbuster/Viacom, Warner Bros., BET), midsize companies and smaller startups.

Mr. Reimer’s work involved general management, strategic planning, project/team supervision and numerous other arenas. In particular, he has extensive experience in deal structuring and negotiation, financial analyses in a creative environment and he has always placed a premium on his communication skills.

As a senior acquisition and production executive, Mr. Reimer oversaw the acquisition, distribution and creation of thousands of films, television programs and other filmed entertainment properties. He has, in great part, been responsible for the creation and the distribution of several titles that have received resounding critical acclaim, financial success and industry awards and recognition, including the Academy Award® winning films, “Crash” and “Monster”. Mr. Reimer received the Humanitas Prize for his work as an Executive Producer on “Crash”.

There had been a consistent through-line present in almost of all of Mr. Reimer’s work as an executive.  He is a successful negotiator, encouraging compromise, conceiving middle ground solutions and ultimately, and successfully, resolving conflicts in virtually every facet of his varied career. This has led to a professional transition towards and the creation of his mediation practice.

Mr. Reimer has successfully conducted over 300 mediations.  His mediation services are provided through Alternative Resolution Centers in Century City, California.  He is an Arbitrator with both FINRA, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority as well as with the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Attorney Client Mediation and Arbitration Services panel. 

Mr. Reimer studied at Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School and at the Strauss Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University Law School. His mediation training has included DRPA certified Mediation Training Programs conducted by the Los Angeles County Department of Consumer and Business Affairs and through California Lawyers for the Arts.  He is a member of the Southern California Mediation Association and serves on the Board of Directors of MC3, the Mediator Certification Consortium of California.  

Mr. Reimer holds an MBA from the John E. Anderson Graduate School of Management at the University of California at Los Angeles and a BA in Music and Business from Harpur College, at the State University of New York in Binghamton.
